Fire Service New Executive Pays CPO Courtesy Visit

The Fire Service Association of Trinidad and Tobago (2nd Division) newly elected Executive paid a courtesy  VISIT to the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Commander Dr. Daryl Dindial at the Offices of the Personnel Department on  January 11th, 2024.

Commander Dindial having welcomed and congratulated the new Executive, afforded the guests a presentation on the conduct of a Job Evaluation Exercise for the Fire Service of Trinidad and Tobago.  The conduct of a new job evaluation was one of the items previously agreed on between the Fire Service Associations of Trinidad and Tobago and the CPO in 2023.

The Association was assured that the Job Evaluation Project Office (JEPO) of the Personnel Department was well poised to manage the pending Job Evaluation as it was staffed by a Project Management Team with proven experience in the management of job evaluations.

Other matters discussed included the proposal of a Group Health Plan, Pension Reform, Travelling Allowance for Officers in acting positions and the inclusion of T-vehicles for traveling purposes. The meeting was very cordial and both parties indicated a commitment to continue dialogue on matters related to improving the terms and conditions of employment for Fire Officers.

The CPO acknowledged the contributions of the former President of the Fire Service Association of Trinidad and Tobago (2nd Division), Mr. Leo Ramkissoon. He recounted that Mr. Ramkissoon’s passion was evident in his dedication and genuine interest in improving the management of issues for the Fire Service and advocating for better terms and conditions of employment for Fire Officers.

The CPO expressed his gratitude to the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Officers on behalf of the State for ensuring the public’s safety and the invaluable contributions they constantly make on behalf of our nation.
